KytoStat - Hemostatic Dressing (single sachet)

KytoStat is a sterile, single use Hemostatic Dressing, intended to be used for temporary control of moderate to severe bleeding wounds.

It clots blood within few minutes.

KytoStat is a 100% chitosan dressing made from pure grade chitosan. It is well known natural biopolymer which is safe to use, bio-compatible and biodegradable in nature. Chitosan is a potent anti-microbial agent.  

Applications:

Head and Neck Trauma     

General surgery

Gunshot wounds

Puncture or Stab wounds

Arterial Bleeding

Hemodialysis

Effective on patients on blood thinners

How to apply:

1)        Open the package and remove KytoStat dressing.

2)        Place it on bleeding site and apply uniform pressure until the dressing sticks on it.

3)       Do not remove dressing immediately, keep in position for at least few minutes.

4)       Then, apply secondary dressing.

5)       To remove dressing, irrigate with sufficient water or normal saline and gently peel it off.

Storage:

·       Keep at room temperature.

·       Protect from sunlight and moisture.

Contraindications:

Surgical Implant.

Patients with known sensitivity to chitosan.

Precautions:

·       Don’t use if package is damaged.

·       If required, use normal saline or water to remove dressing.

·       For single use only.
